Mystified - Berosus

Mystified - Berosus
Alexandria, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA
July 29, 2018
I went through the entire Scarabaeoidea section here, and either I'm blind or just in the wrong section, but I saw no beetles with spots quite like this one, nor antennae. It looks like a chafer but for those antennae.

Thank you!
Nice for it to have a home now - and I see only a few there so far. I appreciate your ongoing labors! :)

Nice hydrophilid
Berosus?

Berosus indeed

Thanks
to you both, and John & Jane too! How can it be so far apart in the lineage but look so very much like a chafer?? Glad I decided to photograph this one instead of dismissing it as Yet Another Annoying Chafer at my lights! :)

Looks to be Hydrophilidae instead
Berosus?

Very attracted to lights at night
