Leaf Miner Fly - Cerodontha - female

Leaf Miner Fly - Cerodontha - Female
Lacey (near Olympia), Thurston County, Washington, USA
October 4, 2007
I know the light is WAY too low, and the picture is grainy and not clearly focused, but it's the only shot I have of this fellow, and it doesn't match any of the other syrphids I've shot so far. It's MUCH tinier, and the wings don't quite look right. Is it even a syrphid?
(I'll frass it after I get a little bit of ID work done on it!)

Cerodontha
This is almost certainly Cerodontha, and the colour and shape reminds me of C. muscina, which is a widespread and relatively common species in North America.

No,
Not a syrphid but a acalyptratae fly in the family Agromyzidae, the so called leaf miner flies!
Greetings,

They're easily confused with frit flies.
I do it all the time. (Frit flies are the more common here, and I'd expect where you are, too.)
