Cat flea? - Ctenocephalides felis

Cat flea? - Ctenocephalides felis
North Carolina, USA
Picked this flea off of my cat a few days ago after i have given it a wash. Threw it in a small container and the little sucker came back to life even after i have washed the cat with an off the counter flea/tick shampoo. It also deposited what seem to be eggs, but i accidentally dropped them on the floor, oh well. The flea was shot using the on-board flash and a homemade diffuser and a very unstable tripod. I hope the image is good enough for an ID.

Holy crap dude...
you'll be dangerous with real equipment!

Looks like a cat flea to me.

cat flea
that is the most likely species
