Blackish Brown Beetle - Dog-face on back

Blackish Brown Beetle - Dog-face on back
Amherstburg, Essex, Ontario, Canada
August 14, 2018
Size: Approx. 1/2 inch long
This beetle was found in a rural area of Southwestern Ontario, on a daisy flower. When I went back to take another look at it, I saw that it was eating another insect, possibly a spider, who's legs are visible at the right. It has a rounded shield-shaped body with distinctive markings, of which the upper ones resemble the face of a dog.

I think from other photos that it is a green stink bug nymph

Stink Bug Nymph
I'd dismissed stink bug nymph as a possibility, not having found one that looked similar to the one I posted, but now I've found another posting with a similar specimen, so I'm convinced. It's so fascinating to see the subtle differences between them.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Bruce.
