"OH YIKES....you've encountered an adult female brown dog tick (Rhipicephalus sanguineus). This one looks like it was attached and feeding for about 5 days."

Female R. sanguineus. Not sure about the feeding length (I don't have much experience in that), but certainly attached for at least a couple days.
