Yellow Caterpillar - Acronicta americana

Yellow Caterpillar - Acronicta americana
Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, USA
August 10, 2018

Excellent!
Glad you're sharing with the new budding entomologist. Don't know if this one will emerge this year or overwinter as a pupa. Sometimes you have to wait till next year to see the adult. Hannah has written a nice article on raising caterpillars here

Acronicta americana

Thank you...
Hi,

Much appreciated for the name of this caterpillar. A young boy that I know, who is 9, is quite the budding scientist and has been watching caterpillars change into moths or butterflies this past season quite closely. He is hoping to have this one change.. and was trying to find out what it is. I'll share the info.

Thanks again,
Eve
