beetle larva

It's still alive but what has kept it alive thus far? It was found in another rearing jar with a lep larva on Shingle Oak leaves. Put it into its own vial with leaves only because I didn't know what else to do. Those leaves are now with fungal spots and would love to figure out how to keep the larva alive.

just seeing this
I'm so sorry that no one answered. I just found out that this forum exists.
I wouldn't have known what to do, of course. I would have taken cuttings from the oak, put them in purified water in a narrow vase with a protected top (I roll up paper towels so no one can fall in the tiny gaps), rested the beetle atop one of the leaves, and put it all inside a butterfly cage, which is what I use for the beetles I raise (Labidomera clivicollis) and other creatures.
