Unable to speciate this- apparently a wingless female wasp of some kind. Seen on milkweed (probably not significant)

Wingless female wasp.
Thank you for setting me in the right direction. I am thinking a Timulla species. I did find a very similar photo in BugGuide. I am a little surprised to find a "velvet ant" in Illinois... planted almost exclusively native plants about 5 years ago and have fun surprising finds every year!!
