Phorodon cannabis - Phorodon - female

Phorodon cannabis - Phorodon - Female
Garberville, Humboldt County, California, USA
August 14, 2018
Winged adult Phorodon cannabis on Cannabis host.

Moved
Moved from Aphids.

Placed at genus for now, apparently Phorodon cannabis has been introduced to the US but Phorodon humuli has also been reported on cannabis.

Capitophorous is not known to host on Cannabis.
More likely to be Phorodon cannabis. I believe I see the finger-like projections on the antennal tubercles, which would be absent in Chapitophorus.

I see the antennal tubercles too--
Interesting how similar the markings are. I'm glad I got a picture clear enough to make that distinction. Thanks for the ID!

Did you notice green stripes at all?
I'm finding some reports of Phorodon humuli on cannabis, but the apterous have three green stripes running from head to tail and apparently Phorodon cannabis may or may not have that.

No--
That's a good point. I definitely didn't observe striping that was as overt as those example photos.
