Size: small ~1/2 inch
small bee on butterfly weed (milkweed) Yellow strips, but did not get backside to see if stripes continue on the abdomen.

One of my favorite vespid mimics! They even fold their wings!

 
Arrgh. I hate being fooled. :)
What should I have picked up on to know that this was a bee and not a wasp?
