Insects from a Mac and Cheese box. - Liposcelis

Insects from a Mac and Cheese box. - Liposcelis
Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska, USA
August 20, 2018
Size: 2-3 mm
Didn't bother measuring. These guys are specks. Bought new boxes of mac and cheese a couple of weeks ago. Decided to make a lunch before identifying more moths. :) There are probably hundreds of these little guys in the box I just opened. I went and shook another box and had one fall out of there too, so I think they were living in there when purchased. We are generally rather picky about keeping our food storage free of pests, so chances are extremely slim they are coming from already stored food. What are they? How quickly do they usually spread (so that I can look for further signs of contamination)?
