Distinctly banded Bombus species - Bombus terricola? - Bombus terricola

Distinctly banded Bombus species - Bombus terricola? - Bombus terricola
Lake Pleasant area, Hamilton County, New York, USA
August 4, 2018
Size: 25 mm a medium-sized Bomb
I watched a patch of Joe-Pye Weed for a half hour or so. There were 2 species of Bombus visiting the Joe-Pye. The smaller species was identified as Bombus ternarious. This 2nd Bombus species appeared to be 1/3rd or more larger with a bright yellow and distinctly banded abdomen.
