Brachynomada? - Sphecodes - female

Brachynomada? - Sphecodes - Female
Independence, Buchanan County, Iowa, USA
July 12, 2018
Size: 4mm
Can this be a Brachynomada? Unfortunately the specimen was prepared without its mouth parts exposed, so I cannot see its maxillary palps or galea; and its abdomen is not extended enough to view its S6 clearly. It has no other red or yellow markings on its thorax or head, but its abdomen is completely red. It was collected in East Central Iowa, which is a bit out of the range for most Brachynomada(?) And if I am in the right genus, can this be Brachynomada grindeliae? I used Discover Life and it is the most likely result I can get to. Thanks for helping out a rookie!

Sweat Bee
Check out the wing veins. Note the highly curved shape of the basal cross-vein of the first discal cell. (large cell in the middle of the wing) This helps to narrow the ID at the family level.

Ahr, not even the right family
Thanks Bob Biagi. It's shameful that I wasn't in the right family. The lack of scopa and the red belly made me immediately go to the Nomada and alikes (somewhere along the key I must have ignored the venation). Thanks very much!
