. Look at the Jim Troubridge spread. If I am right, it would be a nice addition for the guide.
I subscribed because I had looked for this one and could not come up with a good suggestion. S. occata, in my experience has a tufted head and a very fuzzy pronotum.
Note the jagged AM line on this one. I think only Ed could speak to the species ID for this one.

Sympistis apis was suggested by Ed Knudson, which is quite credible; i might prefer S. occata but lack experience with these
