Mystery blue butterflies in the Sierra Nevada Mountains - Plebejus lupini

Can anyone help my identify these blue butterflies? They orange markings on the hindwing don't match anything in my references. Thanks in advance to any experts!

They were seen on the Lyons Creek Trail, in open woodlands near a stream, near the borders of the Desolation Wilderness, near the crest of the Sierras but on the western side.
