Argiope
Matt,

This looks like it could be A. aurantia OR trifasciata. From the ventral view, I'd guess trifasciata. Is she banded white and black? Or is she all black with white splotches?

Matt,
What a beautiful girl you have there. This is Argiope trifasciata, the banded garden spider. Super shy, super beneficial.
