Black Wasp...seems smaller than the Great Black Wasp - Sphex pensylvanicus - male

Black Wasp...seems smaller than the Great Black Wasp - Sphex pensylvanicus - Male
Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska, USA
August 24, 2018
Size: 1"
There were a number of these black wasps feeding on my tall sedum in the flower bed in my front yard. It was hot and sunny. We often have the Great Black Wasp in our yard, but these seem smaller. Could this one be a Steel-blue Cricket Hunter?
