Egg sac or cocoon? - Eumenes

Egg sac or cocoon? - Eumenes
Davis, Winnebago County, Illinois, USA
August 31, 2018
Size: 3/4" diameter
Brown sac under milkweed leaf. I am assuming it is some type of egg sac or cocoon/chrysalis since it is so large.

Moved from ID Request.

I.D. Requested
Since no one responded here, I posted in a botany group and someone suggested Eumenes fraternus.

Correct.
Well, Eumenes sp. at any rate. It often takes weeks, sometimes months or even years to get images identified here.

Comment time
All the other photos I've posted have been answered within a couple of days. But thank you.
