Egg sac or cocoon? -
Eumenes
Davis, Winnebago County, Illinois, USA
August 31, 2018
Size: 3/4" diameter
Brown sac under milkweed leaf. I am assuming it is some type of egg sac or cocoon/chrysalis since it is so large.

Since no one responded here, I posted in a botany group and someone suggested Eumenes fraternus.

Correct.
Well,
Eumenes
sp. at any rate. It often takes weeks, sometimes months or even years to get images identified here.
