Thanks, Brandon for the ID. I sure learn a lot. I tried to listen to its song but naval gunfire has ruined my hearing. It looks like a simple song on the audiograms.

The black and white 'spots' on the forelegs are the ears - all katydids have their tympana on the front legs.
As for the song...there isn't much to it, just a single 'tsip', repeated every couple of minutes - very difficult to track down in the field!
