Slender Beetle - Megapenthes

Slender Beetle - Megapenthes
Aguila, Maricopa County, Arizona, USA
March 18, 2017

Moved
I think this is an undescribed Megapenthes. After the initial BG specimen from Yuma Co., AZ, I discovered I had this species in my collection from Maricopa Co., AZ mis-identified as A. tenuis. Seems it might be more widely distributed in the lower Sonoran Desert than expected (or there could be a complex of species...)

Moved from Aphricus tenuis.

Isolation
Good time to be socializing with dead insects on pins.

Moved, Aphricus tenuis
Nice find and a new species for BG!

Moved from Beetles.

New species
I was afraid I did not get enough detail for accurate id.

I just this week received a specimen from Maricopa Co. :)

Click Beetle
With the sharp corners on back of thorax, it looks like a click beetle.
