Iridopsis defectaria (Brown-Shaded Gray) - Iridopsis defectaria - female

Iridopsis defectaria (Brown-Shaded Gray) - Iridopsis defectaria - Female
Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, USA
September 5, 2018
Size: ~44 mm WS
Found early evening the night before on a wall at the Indiana Government Center in downtown Indianapolis. This is the first female I have found and her wingspan is about 10 mm longer than the male I found earlier in the week. Also was surprised to see the very limited brown shading on this one, but now see the BugGuide ID info confirms this for females of this species.
