ventral spiracles on at least 3 abdominal segments
Although this specimen appears similar to some Lygaeids, unlike Lygaeidae, in which all abdominal spiracles are dorsal, in this specimen at least 3 posterior abdominal segments have spiracles ventrally placed. I have submitted another copy (#1591460) of the previously submitted ventral view (#1587800) of this specimen with ventral spiracles marked with white lines. When I collected this specimen, I also collected a number of what I later determined were conspecific specimens from alder in the same area as this specimen was collected. All had ventral spiracles identical to this specimen. The ventral position of spiracles on posterior segments is diagnostic for Oxycarenidae within Lygaeioidea.

I'm not seeing anything in Oxycarenidae that looks like this...
...and other specimens of Kleidocerys (identified by actual experts) appear to show ventral spiracles:
Or is it just my imagination?

No, it looks like you're spot on...
Thanks for helping me with this. I'm in a different "department" from Hemiptera. I was using a key, and it was probably outdated. I gather a lot has been going on in the Lygaeioidea systematics world. Thanks again Ken.

Thanks for raising the issue
I'm not an authority in any "department," so it wouldn't be shocking to find that I made a bad call. :)
I always learn something when my IDs are questioned.
