Scleropogon floridensis

Scleropogon floridensis
University of South Florida, Tampa, Hillsborough County, Florida, USA
September 7, 2018
After reading the description by Bromley (1951), this individual strongly matches this species, especially with the hind femora being entirely black, the four others black with red tips, the hind tibia all red with black distal tips, the other tibia entirely red only, and the smoky black wings etc.

From Bromley: "Related to S. subulatus Wiedemann, from which it can be distinguished by the entirely black hind femora, the black thorax, the upper hairs of mystax black, and the blackish wings."

Big thanks to Chris Cohen for the help.
