Size: about 8mm long
Very similar to https://bugguide.net/node/view/1589051/bgimage, but seen several days later and has fewer abdominal segments, so presumably a different specimen. Seen on roughly the same stretch of dirt/gravel road in low, grassy, East Bay hills, shortly before sunset. Did not fly. Scurried away from camera overhead. I sharpened this image 85%.
