From Yale Peabody Museum collection. Leg. L. Crabo. Day flier near Larix bog. The real L. commixtalis is a small boreal species found mostly in Canada. Records in the United States are probably L. cerealis, which is significantly larger. Loxostege commixtalis is usually under 22mm wingspan.
