Wet Bee on Kelp - Apis mellifera

Wet Bee on Kelp - Apis mellifera
Pacific Palisades - Will Rogers Beach, Los Angeles County, California, USA
September 14, 2018
A large clump of kelp had washed ashore. Lots of flies. This creature was clearly trying to recover from being doused by a wave The tide was coming in and the surf was unpredictable, often large waves crashed much higher than the norm surprising humans, seagulls and perhaps this creature as well.
