Cantharidae larva? Beavercreek, Greene County, Ohio, USA September 14, 2018
My wife found this "bug" inside a fruit of Capsicum chinense 'Numex Suave Orange' - a cultivar of Habanero chili pepper, while cleaning dozens harvested from our garden . From general appearance I presume it is a beetle larva, and by its active behavior (running around the bowl), I assume it is a predator. Perhaps a Soldier Beetle in Family Cantharidae?
