One of my students found this spider in a cabin in the country, he does not know exactly where he was when he found it as far as city or county. We did a google search and it looks like a brown recluse but we would like some confirmation on this.

The spider is small (possible a juvenile?), has long legs, has a brown abdomen with, what appears to be a faint but light stripe in the middle. Its cephalothorax is a brighter light brown, almost orange color.

Any info on what kind of spider this could be would be greatly appreciated!!

This is ...
an unusual find. Cithaeron praedonius is an introduced species native to places like Africa, the Middle East, India, Malaysia ... it has recently established itself in FL. I haven’t heard of it being found in TX yet however that probably wouldn’t be too surprising.... Although this appears to be a Cithaeron I’m not certain this is C. praedonius though. Is there any chance this came in with someone’s belongings who had recently been in another country?

Having second thoughts. Want to think about this one some more. It appears to be a Cithaeron sp., definitely not a Recluse.
