Eristalis cf arbustorum or dimidiata - Eristalis dimidiata
White Bear Lake, Ramsey County, Minnesota, USA
September 21, 2018
Foraging on Symphotrichum novae-angliae. Reflections may be obscuring prominence of the the markings I'd expect on E. dimidiata. Looks most like E. arbustorum as seen in this specific photo: https://bugguide.net/node/view/747139/bgpage. Other individuals in the vicinity lloked more like E. dimidiata.

Eristalis dimidiata ..... fem
Eristalis dimidiata ..... female.
Note the cell before the humeral cross-vein is dark brown/black and the grayish blue triangle at centre and posterior margin of tergite 2 ( not always visible depending on light and angle of viewing but if present a good feature for dimidiata).

Thanks
Thank you, Bill!
