Carabid - Lachnocrepis parallela

Carabid - Lachnocrepis parallela
Minot, Ward County, North Dakota, USA
September 13, 2007
Size: 10mm
Three specimens of this carabid were collected in a pitfall trap around a wetlands habitat in early September

Moved
Moved from Lachnocrepis.

Oodini : Lachnocrepis parallela
- a new genus for BugGuide. This darkened image unfortunately hides the essential characterstics of tribe Oodini, but distinctive shape of pronotum with pale hind angles and parallel-sided elytra suffice for "Lachnocrepis parallela"; species occupies North America eastward from the Dakotas.

hmmm...
The image is not dark on my monitor...Im using an LCD screen. If anything its a bit light, although It does look darker on a regular CRT monitor.

That's helpful to know,
namely that image brightness will vary with monitor. Your image does indeed comes across rather dark on my old CRT monitor - an unfortunate effect that obscures some of the detail.

its always a problem
I could not believe the difference going to an LCD screen, I would not ever attempt to do image production on a CRT again.

Your conclusion of the differences
may force me to eventually upgrade to a more expensive LCD monitor!

prices have dropped
if you keep an eye out you can sometimes find them for around 200 bucks on sale for a 15 inch. This is an Imac that both the computer and monitor are one, with a 20 inch screen. The colors and detail are amazing, resolution set at 1680x1050
