Wasp stinger?

Wasp stinger?

Hi! I was stung by what I *think* is a wasp. It hurt very badly for days and eventually, a black sharp stinger came out of my finger like a sliver where it was stung. I'd like to know what it was that stung me as I didn't see it. Someone suggested perhaps a "Paper Wasp" -- any ideas??
