Red Conglomeration on Goldenrod - Exetastes

Red Conglomeration on Goldenrod - Exetastes
Junction City, 15 mi. SE, Bottomland prairie restoration, Geary County, Kansas, USA
September 26, 2018
Size: 1/2-3/4"
Two of these red individuals were on Goldenrod (the blossoms and leaves) around sunset tonight. I cannot figure out how all the body parts fit together. The different parts are like sausage links. The antennae--with the central band of white--are cool. Must be a jumper--the muscles on the hind legs look huge! Interesting "spurs" on his legs!
