Anthrax albofasciatus - Anthrax varicolor

Anthrax albofasciatus - Anthrax varicolor

I think this is in the albofasciatus group, so for the time being these images seem appropriately parked.

A. varicolor
This runs to A. varicolor in Marston's key, based on the crossvein between R2+3 and R4 and the spots at the bases of cells r4, m1, and 2m2.

Thanks, Joel,
I just have to trust you on this since I haven't been able to obtain Marston's revision of - OOPS, I just notice that the wing pattern is included in Marston's 1970 revision of this genus (excluding the albofasciatus group), but don't see it in the key... Did you just chance upon the wing illustration, or what did you use?

Oops
I should have specified I was using Marston's 1963 revision of the albofasciatus group.

Marston
I would love to get a copy of the '63 Marston treatment of the albofasciatus group. Do you have a source for this?

I agree with ID. I have always seen this guy labeled as A. varicolor, one of the most widespread and common Bombyliidae in W US.

Thanks, Joel,
now this makes sense. I'll have a chance of looking at that key later this week, or next.
