Looks like a larva of the Larger Elm Leaf Beetle.

Got some helpful guidance that had me digging through leaf beetles & came across that...and we have a large American Elm at the end of the driveway that I went investigate and BINGO, there they were. So you nailed it & thank you! I've seen the adults, but never larvae (and there are a dozen or so meandering around the driveway at any given time right now!).
