Agonum 02 - Agonum aeruginosum

Agonum 02 - Agonum aeruginosum
Tippecanoe County, Indiana, USA
June 18, 2005
Size: 6 mm
Fairly sure this is Agonum aeruginosum. There is a slight transverse depression at about half the length of the elytra, barely visible here. Also matches an image here.

Agonum aeruginosum
is indeed the best choice for this metallic Agonum displaying relatively small roundish pronotum with punctiform (pit-like)laterobasal impressions and a diagnostic dent-like transverse impression across middle elytra. Not uncommon in our upper midwest area.

Brad, Time constraints prevent me from replying to your many other interesting carabids submitted to BugGuide. I encourage others to give feedback.
