Size: est 10 mm
This is an intensely blue-green metallic bee with a pronounced ridge on the front of its thorax. The last segment of the bee's abdomen is black.

The was feeding on erect spiderling (Boerhavia erecta, Family Nyctaginaceae). In an arid habitat near the Mexican border.

Does the intense blue-green color suggest this might be A. sumptuosa? Or can A. metallica also be this darker blue-green shade?
