Unidentified worms

Unidentified worms
southern Adirondack Mts., Saratoga County, New York, USA
October 6, 2018
Time 15:40; temp hi 50s F; very damp and humid. Location - at the side of a gravel path through mixed woods. After removing a fallen leaf from the edge of a large (6”) mushroom, I found these small worms (length ~½”) burrowing into the mushroom. I don’t know what they are, but recognize they might not be insects. Any ideas?
