Halyomorpha species? - Halyomorpha halys

Halyomorpha species? - Halyomorpha halys
Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, USA
October 10, 2018
Like anyone who sees a BMSB, I didn't pay it any attention. When I got home, I noticed this doesn't really appear to be a BMSB. I think it's probably in the genus Halyomorpha, but there's reflective green all over the head (clypeus?), pronotum, and abdominal checkerboard (laterotergites?). There's a bit more, but it's hard to make out in the photo.

Resting on a random tree leaf at the park. There were others nearby, but I didn't pay much attention to them.

I found one too
Nick, I posted one that was similar (reflective green checkerboard and motteling.) Mine got frassed after being tagged a BMSB. I asked about it, and the green was attributed to 'lighting' or 'normal variation'. The similarities to BMSB are undeniable, but the differences still make me go hmmm.
