Platypolia mactata

Platypolia mactata
Pine Brook, Isanti County, Minnesota, USA
Eggs were obtained about September 15, 2013 from females at sugar bait. Hatching began about May 11, 2014. Offered foliage of raspberry, black cherry and boxelder, the last most favored. The first photo was taken May 24 when either 16 or 22 mm (notes unclear on which of two larvae this is) of a presumably penultimate larva. The second was taken either May 29 or 31 (notes again unclear) of a presumed final instar at about 35 mm. All were released on June 1.
