Tapinoma sessile? - Brachymyrmex patagonicus

Tapinoma sessile? - Brachymyrmex patagonicus
Austin, Travis County, Texas, USA
April 8, 2018
Included an Anthrenus verbasci in the frame since it was close and can provide scale.

Moved
Moved from Brachymyrmex obscurior.

Rather sorry about the initial mistaken ID. I recently collected some obscurior in South Texas and just realized how much smaller their eyes are from patagonicus.

Moved
In the rest of eastern Texas patagonicus is more common but there seem to be a healthy population of obscurior in Austin. Both are introduced South American species.

Thanks. I have another entry
