I am sorry for cropping the pictures. I tried to upload my pictures but the files were too big. I didn't know how to compress a picture file, that's why I cropped my caterpillar pictures in half.

There may be other species who look similar though, so wait for the experts to be sure. (:

Mournful sphinx
Thank you so much for the Link, I think you are right, it's a mournful sphinx caterpillar. I've found several mournful sphinx caterpillars on pepper vine in this area before, but they have different colorations, that's why I got confused.
