Perothops cervina???
I am a specialist of NA Eucnemidae and I came across this rather late. I have been studying Perothops, trying to differentiate P. witticki from P. cervina. They are too close together in terms of their appearences. I will revisit the issue personally since I have the Cobos article and try and translate it. It'll take a few days, since I am still recovering from a very bad virulent cold.

Posted a thread regarding the best way to identify Californian Perothops. The link is: http://bugguide.net/node/view/172244

Based on the information I think the identity is confirmed as P. witticki, based on the hind angles. Need to look at the prosternal process between the coxae.

You are right. It should be Eucnemidae. I think I was suffering from a mental block yesterday.
