Panthea sp - Panthea virginarius

Panthea sp - Panthea virginarius
Port Alberni, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada

Panthea virginarius ??

looks good
Moved from Panthea to species page.

Confused
Spent quite a bit of time debating this one. Based on the MPG site, it certainly looks like portlandia, but the Bug Guide genus page for Panthea notes that All Leps considers portlandia and virginarius to be synonyms. Bug Guide species page for P. virginarius appears to show both! Are they the same species, with just a variation in colour?

Under the All-Leps Scheme of Things....
... virginarius would be appropriate. I'll be changing MPG to follow that list soon.

Looks Closer to 9179 - Panthea portlandia to me.
