Fall grasshopper - Conozoa sulcifrons
West Valley Reservoir, Modoc County, California, USA
October 29, 2018
Size: ca 2-3 cm
This hardy grasshopper (night time lows have been around freezing) had bright orange-red hind tibia when it walked and I think it had pale yellow (or clear?) HW when flushed.
