Squash Bug nymph - Anasa tristis

Squash Bug nymph - Anasa tristis
Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, USA
September 2, 2004
Size: 18mm

Moved
Moved from Squash Bugs.

Species ID temptative. Nymphs have been selected for same criteria as adults, and for their dark antennae.

Looks like these are all squash bugs then
Check images at Emmitt and the adults have that fat hind femur too. Nice sequence here and here. Guessing this one is a different species since it's noy green??

Anasa
I feel comfortable moving the light gray nymphs to Anasa, but the other 2 with the enlarged hind femur I'm not sure about. From what I recall, those other 2 were a little smaller than the nymphs with the thin legs.

Great -
let's hope we stir up some interest with the activity on these pages!
