Arizona Moth - Prays

Arizona Moth - Prays
Twilight Road on Mt. Graham near 7500 foot, Graham County, Arizona, USA
May 30, 2018
A quite similar specimen of mine from 5/20/2015 on Mt. Graham at about 500 ft lower elevation had been placed under Prays atomocella. That 5/20/15 submission placing may have been plausible as a somewhat out of range and aberrantly marked atomocella, but the present finding of similar specimen 3 years later at different though not far off location weakens the aberrant argument. Seems possibly another species new or undescribed (or just overlooked). At any rate can't find any totally convincing match so far for either, so submitted for other ID ideas. Here is an image of a "normal" Prays atomocella which does not show any long black dash as with my submissions . Nothing convincing found either so far for MPG or BOLD Ethmia images.

I agree with your assessment -- likely an undescribed Prays sp.
