What kind of ant is this? - Camponotus pennsylvanicus

This was a rather large ant on a tree trunk, then on wood on the ground. This was in the woods at the Rowlett Creek nature preserve. It was moving quickly.

I was wondering if that was a carpenter ant. Not too often I can get an ant photo moved to species. :)
