Size: 13 mm
Family ID tentative, based on overall appearance (hairs much finer than is typical of larger Elateridae). On tree stump. Left elytra torn near base but still attached. Larger image.

The identity....
is indeed confirmed to be a eucnemid beetle. Unfortunately, that is the lowest level of classification its going to be. Without a ventral view of the specimen, I cannot ascertain as to the subfamily or tribe the specimen belongs to within the family.

Thanks for help--I think it got hurt when I lifted a rock off the stump it was sitting on. It must have flown away or I would have got more shots.
