Not sure if this is Smith's Dart Moth. Much grayer than other specimens I've seen here, but ther edo seem to be gray forms.

Looks, too, a bit like Noctua
Looks, too, a bit like Noctua... but, I can also see that Smith's Dart is a good possibility.

Thanks for both comments. Away from home at the moment. Will check my other photos after Christmas & see if there is anything else on this one , but don't think so. For sure we don't have one of the hind wings!

 
Wouldn't be much nicer
if these leps would show their back wings, IMO, very poor models. ;-) I'd almost go with Noctua pronuba as there doesn't appear to be any shading past the PM line.

Maybe someone with more knowledge than I can jump in here.
