This millipede was in deciduous woodlands of northern Alabama.

More likely to be C. cumminsi
More likely to be C. cumminsi rather than C. hubrichti, which has been found closer to Birmingham.

It's been called one of the strangest millipedes in the US, so you're not far off! It's most closely related to some tropical millipedes.
